"Every family deserves the same care for their elders that we'd want for our own."

Recorded Interview
Q01

I'm the Founder and Director of Vinmayaa Care India Pvt Ltd. My role is to set the direction for the organization and make sure that direction is felt in every single interaction our caregivers have with a family — not just on paper. I work closely with our care teams, trainers, and family coordinators to ensure that the standard of care we promise is the standard of care that's actually delivered at the bedside, every day.

Q1
Q02

I kept seeing the same story play out in families around me — a parent or grandparent needed care, and the people who loved them most simply didn't have the training, the time, or the support system to provide it safely. That gap between love and capability is what moved me to act. I wanted to build something that could stand in that gap: a team trained to give elders the same dignity, patience, and attentiveness their own families would want to give them, if only they knew how.

Q2
Q03

Our name carries our vision. "Vinmayaa" speaks to intellect and understanding, and "Care" is rooted in the idea of wellness — so our mission is to bring a thoughtful, well-informed approach to geriatric care rather than a purely transactional one. We're working toward a future where ageing in India is met with structured, professional support as a norm, not a privilege — where every senior's physical, mental, and emotional well-being is looked after with equal seriousness.

Q3
Q04

Families today are spread across cities and countries, work schedules are demanding, and the medical needs of older adults are more complex than they were a generation ago. Good intentions aren't enough on their own — caregiving requires real skill: recognising early warning signs, managing medication correctly, knowing how to support mobility safely. Professional care closes that gap, and it lets families stay present as sons, daughters, and grandchildren, instead of being stretched thin trying to also be untrained nurses.

Q4
Q05

We offer a full spectrum of geriatric support — from trained nursing care and post-hospitalisation recovery support, to daily living assistance, mobility and rehabilitation exercises, medication management, and companionship care for seniors who simply need someone present and attentive. Each plan is built around the individual, because no two elders, and no two families, have exactly the same needs.

Q5
Q06

Even our name reflects what sets us apart — it's built on understanding, not just service delivery. We don't simply send a caregiver to a home; we take the time to understand the elder's history, temperament, and routine before care begins. We're also deeply rooted in Indian culture and values, which means our caregivers approach elders with the kind of respect and familiarity that builds genuine trust, not just professional courtesy.

Q6
Q07

Every caregiver we place goes through structured training and regular evaluation — not a one-time onboarding, but ongoing learning. Safety protocols are built into how we manage medication, mobility, and emergencies. But compassion can't be taught through a checklist alone, so we also screen for temperament and genuine warmth when we select our team, because quality of care and quality of character go hand in hand in this field.

Q7
Q08

Caregiving doesn't stop at the elder — the whole family is going through this journey too, often with worry, guilt, or uncertainty about whether they're doing enough. We keep families closely informed with regular updates, we're reachable when questions or concerns come up, and we make space for families to be as involved as they want to be. Our goal is for families to feel supported, not sidelined, in their loved one's care.

Q8
Q09

What stays with me most aren't the dramatic recoveries, but the quiet shifts — a family that finally sleeps through the night without worry, an elder who starts looking forward to their caregiver's visit, a son who can travel for work again because he knows his mother is genuinely looked after. Those small, steady changes in a household's peace of mind are the real measure of success in this work, and we see them repeat across the families we serve.

Q9
Q10

We want to reach far more families across India and bring the same standard of structured, compassionate care to cities and communities we haven't yet served. Alongside that, we're investing in training more caregivers and in educating the public about geriatric health, because raising awareness about healthy ageing is just as important to us as delivering the care itself.

Q10
Q11

You don't have to carry this alone, and asking for support isn't a failure of love — it's an extension of it. Reach out before you reach a breaking point. Whatever stage your family is at, we're here to understand your situation and walk through it with you, with the same care we'd want for our own parents.
